Delicious Revolutions First Update...

Hello all,

I thought that you might be interested to hear how I am getting on with my new project.

Attending the Skoll World Forum in early April was not only inspiring for me but also helped me clarify the direction of my new purpose - films combined with activism.

Films can inspire us and change our narratives on various subjects; these are critical starting points to move people to action. Most of the time films fall short because there is a chasm which needs to be bridged between being inspired by a story and being willing to make a change in one’s life. I’ve come to know this as the knowing-doing gap.

You may have noticed that I have started a media company called Delicious Revolutions Media to bridge that gap. The aim is to make films that back up inspirational narratives with activisms. So the plan is to have these two parts – one to create films and another to actively engage with and promote grassroots organisations and changemakers to amplify their work.

Our first film is called, Delicious Revolution, which is the story that explores the intricate and delicious relationship between food and our personal and planetary health using my journey that started with a diagnosis of hypothyroid (an autoimmune disease) back in 2013. Food was the catalyst which persuaded me to make a change in myself, to take this big leap of faith and to reconnect with nature. If it was not for my love and pursuit of real and delicious food and better health, this whole adventure would not have happened.

It took me three and a half years to come to this point and it would not have been possible without Adam’s support. Ruth (artist filmmaker and my sister-in-law) has kindly accepted to direct the film.

We have started shooting the trailer and the fundraising will start mid-May to fund the trailer and to continue the research and development. 10% of the funds raised will go to the existing charitable (non-profit) organisations that have been working on making the changes in food systems already.

I will keep you posted on the progress at important milestones of the films.

Thank you very much for your support!

All the best

Bumjoo
